I currently work for K&L Gates as a Pitch and Proposal Manager. In this role, I am responsible for developing compelling, clear and thoughtful RFP responses and pitch materials through collaboration with Business Development, Client Development and Marketing Services team members. I work on process improvement and outcome reporting associated with proposals. I also project manage and implement strategic directives and coordinate marketing functions needed to support the pursuit process.

Prior to K&L Gates, I worked for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe as their Pitch & Pursuits Specialist. In this role, I supported and lead firm and department strategy and initiatives in conjunction with the P&P Team. I worked with the P&P Team, practice group lawyers and Marketing & Business Development colleagues to execute RFP responses and pitch materials, lead client pursuit opportunities through regular market research, and lead maintenance of technology systems and processes that supported the efficient operation of the Marketing & Business Development department.

Prior to that, I worked for Williams Lea as their Marketing Communications Specialist. In this position, I was responsible for multiple communications vehicles and campaigns for the global company. I was the Americas editor of Williams Lea’s quarterly Global corporate Magazine and responsible for the creation of the newsletter for Williams Lea America, including writing content, as well as aiding in direction and design, proofreading and distribution. I updated Williams Lea Americas’ online resources with company communications and maintained Williams Lea Americas’ Marketing communications to and from the Americas Marketing office. I also wrote ad-hoc communications for multiple areas of the global business as necessary.

 

I am an award-winning journalist. Prior to my employment at Williams Lea, I worked for the Wheeling Intelligencer and News-Register as a staff writer. During my time at The Intelligencer/News-Register, I won a West Virginia Press Association award for an article about the incorporation of a smoking ban in Ohio County.

           

I was also a staff writer for the comic book and pop culture magazine, Comics Now! I was responsible for contributing feature articles and other content as well as assisting the editors in all aspects of production, including vision, providing graphic design guidance and approval and proofreading/editing. My role with the magazine involved communication with high-level members of the comic book publishing and entertainment industry. I have shared my expertise in the field of Comics & Graphic Novels in presentations/panels at comic book conferences in Chicago and Reading, PA.

​1995-2001

I attended Wheeling Jesuit University where I was awarded both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in theology. My Jesuit education focused on excellent writing skills and the use of critical thinking. While working toward my Master’s, I worked as a graduate assistant in the Adult Education Department as the assistant to the Director of the Bachelor in Organization and Leadership Development degree program. I was responsible for the organization and distribution of academic materials and program information to students and managed the admissions communication flow and was responsible for writing letters and academic plan updates for students. I have also taught several undergraduate classes.
